Mason County has five local golf courses for you to enjoy. The challenges of the county's 63 holes range from relatively short and tight courses to tough tests of power. The scenery ranges from lakes and ponds to saltwater and mountain views, always with Mason County's trademark trees dominant. The resort golfer would consider most of the green fees in Mason County modest. You can play all 63 holes on a weekend for $93. If you want to warm up first, there are four local driving ranges to provide you with driving, chipping and putting practice. |

ALDERBROOK GOLF AND YACHT CLUB 18 hole semi-private course located 12 miles north of Shelton on Brockdale/McGreavy Rd. to Manzanita to Alderbrook, Tee times 360-898-2560. Mostly flat with some hills, all grass tees, soft spikes only April-October. Very well maintained course, some narrow fairways, good sized well conditioned greens. For a real challenge you'll like #8, a double dogleg 532 yard par 5. Marvel at the beauty finishing 18 looking across Hood Canal at the Olympic Mountains. Men- 6037 yards par 72, Women-5500 yards par 73. Pro:Chris Haffly, PGA. BAYSHORE 9 hole public course located 4 miles north of Shelton on Hwy 3. For Tee times call 360-426-1271. Course is mostly flat with some small hills, all grass tees and soft spikes preferred. Course is tight, tricky and well-maintained. Greens not too large and can be hard to hold. Tacoma Pro Ken Still says the #3 elevated tee, across the creek par 3, is one of the really fun holes in the Northwest. Two sets of tees for 18 holes. Men-6004 yards par 72, Women-5698 yards par 73. Pro: Brian Davis, PGA. LAKE CUSHMAN 9 hole public course located north of Shelton to Hoodsport to left 2.8 miles on Lake Cushman Rd., Tee time 360-877-5505. The course is mostly flat with a few hills, all grass tees and soft spikes preferred. This course can be challenging with the tree-lined fairways but few hazards around the greens. In the spring you may see some Elk, but in the fall you'll only see what they left. Men- 5914 yards par 70, Women 5348 yards par 70, dual tees for 18 holes. Pro: Lin Wicks, PGA. LAKE LIMERICK 9 hole semi-private course located 5 miles north of Shelton on Hwy 3 to left on Mason Lake Road to Lake Limerick, Tee times 360-426-6290. Course is flat with some hills, all grass tees and soft spikes preferred. Fairways are quite tight and tree lined. Greens are medium sized, tricky but fairly flat. Test your skills on #4. It's a 203 yard par 4, but you have to fly the pond or lag up the dogleg. Two sets of tees for 18 holes. Men-5779 yards par 72. Women-5424 yards par 72. Pro: Terry O'Hara. LAKELAND VILLAGE 27 hole semi-private located 19 miles north of Shelton on Hwy 3, Tee time 360-275-6100. The course is flat with some hills, all grass tees and soft spikes preferred. This 27 hole course has 14 water hazards, is well maintained and has fairly open fairways. the greens are good sized and most of them bunkered. In addition to the three 9's, there are 2 driving ranges and a putting green. Men- 6086 yards par 72, Women- 5334 yards par 72. Note distances are for two longest 9's. Pro: Randy Jensen, PGA.
